How are the Blue and Red KETONIX different?
The history of original KETONIX in 2013 began with the development of a blue labeled device; it became the “Standard” Model. When the second version was developed with a red label, it was known as the “Sport” model. The “Standard” displayed 4 different color ranges, similar to a urine test strip. The “Sport” model had a bit more spread out range and indicate by blinking where in each range the reading was. This feature was hardwired into the original KETONIX model’s firmware and was not adjustable by the end user.
The new KETONIX 2015 does not have the ketone detection ranges hardwired into the unit. The ranges can be changed by the user as often as they wish. However they differ in the way that the Blue comes with “Standard” feedback range and the Red comes with “Sport” ranges. So if you have a “Blue” Ketonix it will have feedback ranges like this (from the settings dialogue in the software). Please note that the major differences are the YELLOW and RED Ranges.
And if you have a Red the same settings dialogue would look like the picture below.
In the settings dialogue you see “sliders with a knob” for Green, Yellow and Red. By “dragging” them to other positions you can have your own customized feedback ranges. You could also just press “Set as Standard” or “Set as Sport” to get the factory settings.
